Welcome to our Twelfth Season!!
Once again, with the help of our audience votes, we’ve selected a terrific line-up of plays for
2008. There are four wonderful and distinctly different comedies including the funny, yet
poignant Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling; Neil Simon’s classic comedy, The Odd Couple;
the hilarious farce, No Sex Please, We’re British by Anthony Marriott and Alistair Foot and the
riotous dark comedy by Michael Hollinger, Incorruptible. We also have a hearty dish of drama
and suspense as well with Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose and Turn of the Screw, adapted
from Henry James by Jeffrey Hatcher. Tucked in among the regular season shows, we’re
including a staged reading weekend in April and our ever-popular “Summer Shorts” weekend in
August, which features staged readings of original one-acts by our own Bay Area playwrights.
We extend a heartfelt, “Thank you” to our regular patrons and enthusiastic season ticket holders
for your constant encouragement and support through the years, and we hope you’ll continue to
spread the word to all your friends. Although we’re in this great location on the corner, we
constantly hear from newcomers, “I didn’t even know there was a theatre here!” To all those
newcomers from both of us, our advisory board, actors, directors, designers, technicians and
volunteers--”We look forward to sharing Broadway West’s productions with you!” A good deal of
love and determination goes into each and every show, and we hope you’ll feel it as you enjoy
our 2008 season.
